Watford BID, Watford Borough Council and Hertfordshire County Council engaged in a partnership working to make the renewal of the town’s high street possible. This effort has attracted the approval of the people behind the London Transport Awards, with the high street being nominated in the category for Excellence in Cycling and Walking. Businesses that win awards and achievement can highlight this on Business Cards, as well as other documentation such as company Letterheads.
£180 million has been spent on the transformation of Watford’s high street. At the moment, Watford is a major destination for leisure and shopping. The town features high up in the UK league table for recreational activity. Peter Taylor, Watford’s elected mayor, told the Hillingdon Times:
“With the new Cineworld cinema and the Hollywood Bowl, we are benefitting from the tremendous upgrades to the intu Centre and the High Street.”
According to the Mayor, one advantage of the project is that the town centre now seems safer to the public. He specified that there has been a reduction in the volume of traffic which flows through the transport system.
For Taylor, tough decisions were required to make the town thrive and the council managed to get things done. He contrasted the economic vibrancy of the town with less dynamic high streets in other parts of the country.Get a Free Quote for Business Cards Get a Free Quote for Letterheads
