Watford venue set to reopen soon

One of the biggest entertainment venues in Watford will be reopening very soon, and some of the artists to perform there when it does have now been announced.

Watford Colosseum closed its doors five years ago, so that a major refurbishment could be carried out. Now, preparations are underway for its grand reopening, and a line-up of stars has been announced for the first season.

The very first act to play at the revamped venue will be Ocean Colour Scene, a band that enjoyed considerable chart success during the 1990s and 2000s. Fans can expect to hear all of their major hits, including ‘The Riverboat Song’ and ‘The Day We Caught the Train.’

That gig will take place in late August and it will be followed by numerous others throughout the autumn. Some of the other musicians who are confirmed to be playing at the Colosseum include Jake Bugg, The Stranglers and David Essex.

Poster printing by shops in Watford is one of the options available to local venues when they need to promote their upcoming shows.

Watford Colosseum is run by AEG and its CEO, Steve Homer, told the Watford Observer that:
“Watford really deserves a venue of this calibre and we are looking forward to delivering artists and events that span all kinds of genres.”

The revamped venue will be opening again on 29th August.
