The refurbishment of Watford’s intu shopping hub is not the end of the story. The idea is that the upgrade will be followed by the extension of the retail centre. A few months after the transformation, it is envisaged that £180 million will be spent on the creation of a major shopping destination. Demand for local printing services may increase.
The planned makeover has several elements. A car park will be revamped, while toilets are to be redecorated. The flooring of the centre is due to be replaced, new ceilings will be introduced and fresh lighting will be fitted.
Rebecca Ryman, a regional director for intu, told the Watford Observer:
“Every area of the centre is being redesigned and redeveloped as we get ready to launch our new extension. We’re creating what will be one of the biggest in-town retail and leisure destinations and combined with our extensive mall refurbishment programme, this will create the very best environment for intu Watford’s retailers to flourish and to attract an expanding affluent catchment base.”
Many urban centres are known for convenience shopping. The backers of the regeneration of Watford are determined to change the type of shopping which is done. More big brands shall be arriving during the autumn, while some shops shall expand. There will be a new emphasis placed on the provision of leisure facilities.Get a Free Quote for Print
