Watford hotel could be demolished

A hotel in Watford could be set to be knocked down so a larger one can be built in its place, if the council decides to approve the proposed Plans.

The hotel in question is called the Quarters and it is situated on St Albans Road. It is a facility with 100 bedrooms, but the proposed replacement would be much larger. The company behind the plans is keen to build what it calls a ‘lifestyle hotel’ at the site, which could have a total of 415 bedrooms.

This would be targeted at a mixture of tourists, local entrepreneurs and people working in creative industries. The designs that the company has included as part of its application show that the potential hotel would offer a lot more than just accommodation.

They include a ground floor cafe and collaborative working space; a wellness centre and spa; space for retail outlets; and a room for exhibitions and live events. The company’s application indicates that it is working with existing venues within Watford, such as the Palace Theatre and the Pump House Theatre.

If the plans are given the go ahead, entrepreneurs who stay at the hotel will find that Watford has other useful amenities. These include shops that offer Corporate Gifts for attracting clients.

The company behind the plans wants the hotel to be a cultural attraction.
