There is the chance that a brand new drive-thru coffee outlet could be created in Watford, with Plans for this having been sent to the local council for approval.
The location that has been selected for it is the car park of supermarket chain Morrison’s. It is hoped that the coffee outlet can be situated within its north-east corner, which is on Ascot Road, Watford. Motor Fuel Group, which manages the forecourt for the supermarket, submitted the application. It is not yet known which company would be running the coffee outlet.
A number of drawings were submitted alongside the application, which give some indication of what it might look like. The Signs featured are purely generic though and do not hint at the identity of any operator.
There are local services that could potentially help the operator, if permission is granted. They include Watford shops able to create giveaway Promotional Products, for use in advertising the outlet.
At the moment, the car park provides space for 429 vehicles. That would be reduced by 65 if Watford Borough Council grants permission for the coffee outlet. A further eight spaces would be converted into charging points for electric vehicles.
The planned drive-thru outlet would be open all day and night and would lead to roughly 25 jobs being created.
The date for a decision is still to be revealed.
