Existing volunteers already do a lot of work at MVCC, with almost 300 individuals using their free time to assist people with cancer. If these volunteers want to get more assistance from communities in and around Watford, they could use Presentation Folders and full colour printing.
Ginnie Abubakar told the Watford Observer:
“Undergoing treatment for cancer is a stressful and anxious time and we are extremely grateful to the team of volunteers who help our patients, going that extra mile to put them at their ease, whether it is a smile, a cup of tea or helpful information.”
One volunteer, Paul Hill, started helping at the centre because he wanted to contribute to society. Hill admitted that he was unsure about the work initially, but he explained that this uncertainty was temporary. He now works within patient services, and his work involves answering the questions patients may have.
Terry Harding, another volunteer, explained that the work is very rewarding. Harding revealed that sometimes things are emotional, said that it was positive when he could make a situation slightly less difficult for a patient.
