School in Watford to bring in new headmaster

A primary school in Watford has announced that it will be bringing in a brand new headmaster for the start of the next academic year, with the chosen candidate stating that he is delighted.

Matthew Morey is set to become the new headmaster for Lanchester Primary School, which is situated on Hempstead Road, Watford. It will mark a promotion for him, as he has never held a role of that seniority before, but he has been a teacher within the local area for a long time.

His first experience after finishing his training was in coaching youth football in Watford. That sparked his interest in helping children and he went on to teach at schools in Berkhamstead and Croxley Green. Following that he rose to the position of deputy headmaster at a school in Bushey.

He undertook the necessary training for a headmaster role during the summer of 2023. Speaking to the Watford Observer, Morey stated that:
“I am delighted to have been appointed as the new head teacher at Lanchester Primary School and I am very much looking forward to getting to know the community.”

Stationery printers in the district are sometimes called upon by local schools to provide them with everything from teaching materials for classrooms to administration Forms.

Morey is scheduled to start in his role at this school on 1st September.
