Peter Taylor is Watford’s elected mayor and he visited a Co-operative outlet to show his support for an Usdaw campaign. Taylor found out more information about the experience of workers. The Keep Your Cool message highlights how retail employees should be treated with respect. Logo Design can be a great help when engaged in promotional activity.
Research indicates that workers in the sector can be vulnerable to all kinds of poor behaviour. Sadly, incidents of verbal abuse, threatening activity and physical assault are not all that uncommon. Taylor told the Watford Observer:
“Shop workers in our town do a really valuable job, particularly helping elderly or vulnerable shoppers go about their daily business. There’s no excuse to ever verbally or physically attack someone for simply doing their job.”
Andy Tomlinson is an area manager for Co-op Food. He is clear that it is a minority of shoppers that engage in antisocial behaviour. However, mistreatment of staff may have a terrible impact on individuals. Obviously, this is unacceptable when the workers are delivering a crucial service to the community.
The Respect for Shopkeepers Week is timed for a season when people tend to use retailers a lot. In Watford, there has been close collaboration between Usdaw and Co-op Food to help provide the initiative with the necessary publicity.Get a Free Quote for Logo Design
