The Cassiobury Hub secured recognition at the Hertfordshire Building Futures Awards. The local mayor, Peter Taylor, told the Watford Observer:
“I am delighted that this major regeneration project led by Watford Borough Council has been recognised by the Building Futures judges. The hub is well used by local schools and provides a meeting place for the whole community.”
Organisers of awards ceremonies such as this often make use of Posters and banner printing to ensure that brands and logos are visible at the event.
It would not have been possible for Cassiobury to be so successful if there had not been significant investment in the project. The regeneration of the park started seven years ago. Since then, £6.6 million has flowed into the scheme.
The Big Lottery Fund and the Heritage Lottery Fund have both stepped up to the plate. Even paddling pools have gained from an injection of resources.
Cassiobury obtained one of its awards in part due to its impressive energy efficiency. However, the sustainability of the initiative is cemented by its social dimension. Outdoor play has the potential to keep people healthy for decades to come.
Project of the Year was awarded to the hub and its setting for other reasons. The panel of judges was swayed by the distinctive design of the place. The special character of the area was something else which they were obliged to consider.Get a Free Quote for Posters
