Walthamstow trainee to attend Philadelphia event

A construction trainee from Walthamstow is set to give a speech at a Philadelphia conference.

Walthamstow’s Marcus Anderson has been training at Future Place within Catford. Future Place is the consequence of cooperation between construction company Saint-Gobain and the charity Barnardo’s. Anderson will deliver a talk related to youth employment in Philadelphia this December. Business Cards are handy at events of all types.

Anderson left care and he has been unemployed, but he has always been industrious. When at college, he did call centre work. He also did his bit at a fast food outlet. Ambitious, he has concrete ideas about what he would like to do next. Anderson told the Yellow Advertiser:

“After I have finished my traineeship, I want to become an expert in dry lining and take an apprenticeship somewhere else for a year to get more experience.”

One day, Anderson would like to have his own enterprise. However, he appreciates that the realisation of this ambition is still several years down the line.

Meanwhile, the Global Opportunity Youth Initiative is providing Anderson with a platform in Philadelphia on Sunday 2nd December. Anderson was surprised to be selected for the big occasion. The event brings together a variety of international stakeholders who may have the influence necessary to promote a prosperous future for young individuals.
