Local parent Louise Goulden came up with the fresh community initiative. Things seem to have gone well at the Ross Wyld Care Home on Walthamstow’s Forest Road. Residents reportedly appreciate the energy generated by the sessions, while parents and children have enjoyed the emotional experience.
A lot of money has now been raised to upscale the project. Office Stationery from Walthamstow may be useful throughout the local third sector. Goulden told the East London and West Essex Guardian:
“Our local community has shown incredible support for The Together Project so far, helping us exceed our crowdfunding target last year. Now we hope they’ll join us as volunteers. The roles are so much fun and offer a great feeling of personal satisfaction, knowing you’re making a real difference to people’s lives.”
Goulden wants singalongs to be directed by group leaders. Furthermore, she hopes people step up to the plate to welcome children and their parents going forward. Neither group leaders nor greeters necessarily have to possess specific experience. Nonetheless, volunteers should be friendly and enthusiastic.
The new group is to be located at the Albany Nursing Home on Leyton’s Albany Road. Resources have come from the public, Santander and the relevant local authority.Get a Free Quote for Stationery
