Walthamstow entrepreneur receives royal admiration

An up-and-coming businesswoman has enjoyed accolades from a member of the royal family.

A self-starter from Walthamstow, Keisha East, 29, met Prince Charles when she attended an event that was recently hosted in South London. Entitled “The Enterprise”, the occasion was part of a dedicated programme from The Prince’s Trust that provides both funding and training to young people who are starting a business of their own or working as self-employed.

Entrepreneurs beginning their own companies and those who work freelance can sometimes use business card printing services to create branded calling cards they can hand out to clients and contacts.

When the Prince of Wales met the young entrepreneur, he heard how the Trust’s support had helped her to set up her business and commented of how proud she should be of what she had achieved.

The Walthamstow business owner now trades online with No Knot Co., who specialises in dedicated hair tools designed for curly, oiled, and wavy hair types.

Asked about her royal meeting, East remarked on how friendly the prince was and commented:

“He was very intrigued that my business was self-funded and told me I should be so proud. I tried to persuade him to buy our shampoo brush - telling him about its benefits for hair growth.”

East explained to the Prince how the programme’s mentor advice offered had been a game changer.
