Tunbridge Wells welcomes jazz and funk
A band specialising in jazz-funk fusion is coming to Tunbridge Wells.
Music fans all over Western Kent will be keen not to miss this single-night show headlined by the James Taylor Quartet. Formed in 1985, and led by James Taylor on the Hammond organ, the popular foursome has dabbled in rap, acid jazz and soul before returning to their funk and jazz roots.
Famous for their instrumental renditions of film themes like Goldfinger and Mrs Robinson, the band has also contributed to cinema soundtracks, including the initial Austin Powers movie. The prolific artists have dozens of albums under their belt, including Mission Impossible, the Money Spyder, Supernatural Feeling, In the Hand of the Inevitable, and the critically acclaimed Soundtrack from Electric Black.
Able support will be provided for the quartet on the night from Kung Fu Slipper (a six-piece playing electronic, afrobeat, dance and groove music) and DJ Karl Quinn. Live music venues can sometimes advertise their concert calendar with assistance from professional poster printing services.
The James Taylor Quartet and their support artists will play the Forum in Royal Tunbridge Wells on Sunday, April 4. The gig will start at 7:30 pm and tickets are priced at £15 per person. Those unaccompanied by an adult must be 16 years old or over.
