Tunbridge Wells to enjoy Scottish rock

An acclaimed rock band that formed in Scotland will play in concert at a major venue in Tunbridge Wells later this year.

The Forum in Tunbridge Wells has announced it is welcoming Scottish rock group Big Country to its stage for a winter show. December will see the band that was founded by former vocalist-guitarist Stuart Adamson and Scottish-Canadian guitarist Bruce Watson play a single-night show, promising a set-list packed with classic tracks from albums like “The Crossing”, “Steeltown” and “Peace in Our Time”.

Bands and record companies often collaborate with gifted graphic design services to assemble artwork, imagery and typography for upcoming album covers.

Big Country rose to fame after emerging in the ‘80s. Their unique sound caught the attention of fans and critics alike in the UK, featuring the fire of punk rock infused with a Celtic folk influence. However, it was their 1983 single “In a Big Country” that catapulted the rockers to international fame.

The track displayed the trademark guitar style of Adamson, characterised by continuous bagpipe-like humming and EBow powered melodies that soon defined them. Lyrically, the band’s songs are filled with imagery of Scotland and a deep sense of longing.

Big Country will play live at The Forum on Saturday, December 28. The concert will commence at 7.30 pm and the venue is based on The Common in Fonthill, Tunbridge Wells.
