Science park may be developed in Tunbridge Wells
A new science park is one of several potential plans for a stretch of land off the A21 in Tunbridge Wells. It is thought the centre would fit in well with the other new projects in the area.
The plans for the educational attraction have been forward by Development Securities, a leading property developer which is based in London. Speaking on behalf of the firm, David Enticknap said:
Whether the site becomes a retail mecca, an educational science park or is simply turned into offices and residential homes, the area is set to benefit from some sort of regeneration. This type of development can often help to boost the regional economy, with local firms called on to help promote new developments with brochures, posters and flyer printing.
Tunbridge Wells is set to become home to a new state-of-the-art NHS hospital in the coming years, and it is thought that a science park could complement this well. It would also facilitate research and could attract more science-related investment to the area.
Planning permission is yet to be granted but a council decision is expected in the coming months.

“We are thinking at the moment a mixed use scheme and clearly North Farm is very successful as a retail centre, so some form of retail development. There is definitely a case for modern office accommodation or a science park.
“It would need lots of elements. To start with we will look at the retail element and employment and some form of residential."
