Green Square provided children in the town with an opportunity to claim £250 and an iPad by coming up with the winning artwork in a competition to design a ‘House of the Future’ with an eco-friendly focus.
This competition was open to children aged between 7 and 16, and the entrants could submit anything from computer-based designs to homemade paintings or craft pieces.
The competition was held to mark the launch of the new Green Square showroom, which is located on London Road. Alesha Calvert – who attends All Saints CE Junior Academy – proved to be the winning entrant.
A number of local dignitaries were in attendance for the opening, including deputy mayor Councillor David Neve, while Tunbridge Wells Grammar School for Boys pupils gave a presentation outlining the importance of renewable energy.
Green Square Tunbridge Wells centre manager, Paul Smith, told Kent Online that:
“We are very excited to finally be here in Tunbridge Wells; we’ve received an excellent response from people locally so far, many keen to switch to green energy supplies.”
There are other places that offer environmentally friendly services – such as printing services offering digital printing in Tunbridge Wells – that Green Square will be able to rely on to complement its own work.
