Festival fever returns after a one year break
The festival spirit has come to the Tunbridge Wells area as the Hop Farm Festival makes a comeback following a two-year absence.
The event is expected to be bigger and better than ever before, with a new promoter and a new look to the festival that was last seen in 2012.
After years of success, the festival attracted a star-spangled line up including Prince, Bob Dylan, and Morrissey. In spite of this, the event entered a crisis period and a financial meltdown saw the event fail to build on its previous successes. There were attempts to revive the event in 2013, but they collapsed after tickets sales flopped.
However, this is not a problem for this year’s event, which got underway today (4th July).
Retaining the same name as its predecessors and under the watchful eye of a new promoter and a new management team, the festival – which takes place in Paddock Wood – has pulled out a promotional campaign that includes the use poster printing, drawing thousands of people to its gates for what is expected to be its renaissance event.
Another contribution to the success of this year’s planning comes in the form of the ability to attract well-known performers to headline the festival, with Grace Jones and Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys. These artists will join the likes of Sophie Ellis-Bextor, James Blunt, Billy Ocean, and Maximo Park in entertaining the crowds.
