What's Happening in Birmingham, England…

Tales from the waterways come to Solihull

The show 'Robbie Cumming: Canal Boat Stories Live' is due to arrive in Solihull at the beginning of September.

This narrowboat enthusiast, presenter and musician comes originally from Dorset. He relocated to London in his 30s, but had difficulty finding accommodation. Instead, he chose to accept an offer to house-sit a friend's narrowboat, only to be won over by the lifestyle.

Cumming quickly learned how to vlog and edit, and his work subsequently attracted the BBC's attention. He recently completed the fifth series of the successful BBC Four series 'Canal Boat Diaries'. A presenter on his own YouTube channel, he also previously released three self-produced LPs.

This is an evening of interactive entertainment with a canal theme. It is a chance for attendees to learn more about the often unseen world of Britain's waterways, including complicated lock systems and a host of distinctive characters.

Cumming has explored the north, south, and midlands of England on his four-decades-old narrowboat that goes by the name of 'Naughty Lass'. He will recall many of his adventures through anecdotes, music, pictures and video presentations. There will also be a question-and-answer session.

Tickets cost £20.00 each. Logo design can have a significant impact on the effective promotion of a stage show or theatrical event.

'Robbie Cumming: Canal Boat Stories Live' has a starting time of 7.15 pm on Thursday, 4 September, at The Core Theatre in Solihull.
