The Guide to Whisky, a tasting session organised by TWL, is due to be held in South Birmingham in early October.
As a drink, whisky has acquired global recognition and an iconic status. This session is not only for those who already have a keen interest in whisky, but also for those wanting to re-educate their palate, as well as the complete novice.
It will dispel a few of the common myths surrounding the famous drink, such as the claim that Bourbon is not whisky, or the belief that the older the whisky, the better. There is a wealth of history and culture surrounding the drink to discover.
Attendees will learn about the production process and maturation, the proper way to nose and taste a sample, and how to identify exactly what singles out one dram from another. The tasting itself will involve six whiskies and is done in the company of other participants, studiously guided by a recognised expert.
Tickets are priced at £29.46. A no refund policy is in operation and all those present must be aged 18 or over. Poster printing can be a valuable tool when seeking to publicise a local or regional event like this.
The Guide to Whisky tasting session will take place between 7pm and 9pm on Thursday 8th October at The Edgbaston Hotel, South Birmingham.
