Kris Drever, John McCusker and Idlewild's Roddy Woomble – all award-winning Scottish folk musicians – are due to appear in together South Birmingham towards the end of August, for the first time in well over a decade.
It has been 10 years since "Before The Ruin" was released the trio. The intervening decade has seen it develop into what is a rare phenomenon, a success by "word of mouth". This collaborative album became highly regarded by many of those who admire and understand the genre.
The album is melodic and atmospheric work that also features contributions from Teenage Fanclub's Francis MacDonald and Norman Blake, Radiohead's Philip Selway and Capercaillie's Donald Shaw.
The album received considerable airplay on Radio 2, BBC 6, and Radio 3, at the time, and the three musicians individually played around 40 UK gigs after its release. These distinctive artists then proceeded to spend the next 10 years focusing on personal projects. This will be the first time since 2008 that they have been on stage as a threesome.
Tickets cost £18.70, inclusive of the booking fee, with a minimum age of 15. Promotional Products can be used to attract the general public's attention when publicising a concert or other musical event.
Drever, McCusker and Woomble will be appearing, starting time 7:30pm, on Friday, August 20 at The Hare and Hounds, South Birmingham.
