Solihull venue gears up for a night of soul music

Classic sounds will be once again heard when a Northern Soul Night, presented by Tribute Night Promotions, is held in Solihull at the beginning of April.

The name 'Northern Soul' can be attributed to the US journalist and R&B aficionado, Dave Godin. It was a development in music and dance that appeared in the 1960s, one that had its origins in a specific style of American black soul, characterised by being both up-tempo and having a strong beat.

Many of the records released would have normally topped the charts at the time, but due to a lack of financial support, they all but disappeared. The Northern Soul scene has grown exponentially in recent years and is now more popular than ever. With a worldwide following, the music is played at venues across the UK.

Hosting the evening will be a leading DJ, and the event should appeal to a broad spectrum of people. This would include not only those who like soul music, but also those who like R&B and reggae, as well as individuals who simply want to learn more.

Tickets cost £9.35 inclusive of a transaction fee. Print shops can provide a useful service when it comes to the promotion of a concert or musical event.

Northern Soul Night has a starting time of 7.00 pm on Saturday, 5 April at Royal British Legion, Solihull.
