Post-punk innovators head to South Birmingham

Vision Video, the American gothic rock band, is embarking on a UK tour, and is due to perform in South Birmingham at the beginning of December.

Like REM, they hail from Athens, Georgia and endeavour to introduce an intense contemporary element into classic 70s/80s sounds. The band's music is in many ways a homage to artists such as The Cult and The Cure; it remains consistently original and innovative.

Lead singer Dusty Gannon (Goth Dad) was a firefighter and served with the US Army in Afghanistan. He is familiar with much of the darker side of life, which together with the influence of keyboardist Emily Fredock has undoubtedly informed the band's music, giving it an edge.

Vision Video's critically acclaimed first album 'Inked in Red' (2021) and the follow-up 'Haunted Hours' (2022), were recorded at Tom Ashton's Athens Sub Von Studios. They have also produced two new singles, 'Balaclava Kiss' and 'Stay. Their next album "Modern Horror" is due to be recorded soon.

The Nightmares, an Alternative/Post-Punk band, who released their LP 'Seance' in 2023, will provide the support on this occasion.

A standard ticket costs £17.00. Graphic design can play an important role in the promotion of a concert or musical event.

Vision Video's gig has a starting time of 7.30 pm on Wednesday 4th December, at Hare & Hounds, South Birmingham.
