Indie/rock band to play South Birmingham gig

The musically eclectic China Bears is about to go on tour and is due to play South Birmingham at the beginning of October.

They were formed by twins, Ivan Proctor (vocals/guitar) and Frazer Proctor (vocals/guitar).in Somerset. The completed line-up includes James Zealey (bass) and Dean McCaw (drums), whom they met at the University of Surrey.

Their finely tuned EPs such as 'I've Never Met Anyone Like You' and 'All That Distance' display a distinct ability to fuse alt. rock and acoustic sounds. They have also carried out a whole series of successful tours.

The band's initial album 'Participation Trophy' came out in July this year on the Fierce Panda Records label. It was recorded in Leith with Idlewide's Rod Jones as producer and has a cinematic feel yet remains quite personal in the story it tells.

Whether it is the forceful 'I Will Break My Own Heart' or the flowering 'Gracie' there is something on the album for everyone. China Bears have attracted wider attention thanks to their high-energy performances, often seeing them compared to The National and Frightened Rabbit.

Tickets cost £12.10 inclusive of a transaction fee. Flyer printing is a quick and easy form of promotion when it comes to a future concert or musical event.

China Bear's gig has a starting time of 7.30 pm on Wednesday 9th October at the Hare & Hounds, South Birmingham.
