Event management firm Cvent conducted the research in question, looking at event booking patterns in Europe, Africa and elsewhere to come up with its findings. It discovered that during 2015, Birmingham nudged above rival Manchester in rankings put together by the organisation.
If many conferences continue to take place in the city-region, demand for promotional Pens and promotional items from South Birmingham could enjoy a surge. Emma Gray, who works in the sector of business tourism for Meet Birmingham, said:
"Birmingham's position as the preferred UK meetings destination outside London is further evidence of the consistent hard work of our venues and partners to provide the best possible experience for our many event visitors.”
Gray, a communications and marketing specialist, added that extra investment had flowed into her sector recently. She pointed out that the visitor economy is worth in excess of £6bn to the economy of Birmingham.
She indicated that the Vox Conference Centre (VCC) has proved to be a useful venue for the city. Located near South Birmingham, the VCC is a few miles to the east of the centre of the city. It is handily situated for business purposes because of its proximity to Birmingham International Airport.
