Project Jackfruit specialises in creating cooking sauces. It makes savoury concoctions, some of which are vegan. By taking part in a pitching contest, the business got £5,000 to support its growth and secured the opportunity to eat brunch with the famous entrepreneur. Local start-ups can use bespoke Business Cards from south Birmingham for promotional purposes.
Jordan Grayson is one of the founders of Project Jackfruit and is just 23 years old. Abi Robertson is the co-founder of the firm. The enterprise beat five other contenders to secure the prizes. Grayson told the Birmingham Mail:
“We're already in talks with a major UK food retailer so this investment will help us find a suitable manufacturer in India, where the jackfruit grows, so we can upscale production and it will also fund our marketing activity.”
Grayson and Robertson made a great impression at the Virgin Business Voom Pitch event. The positive impact was generated because the pair developed a clear strategy and this approach has empowered the firm to achieve high sales.
The jackfruit is not a cooking ingredient which is widely known in the UK. However, it is both nutritious and affordable. Furthermore, the texture of a cooked jackfruit has been compared with that of pulled pork.Get a Free Quote for Business Cards
