Television stars announced for Redditch pantomime
Redditch is set to play host to a pantomime again this festive season, and a number of major television stars have been lined up to appear in it.
The festive pantomime this year will be Aladdin and the cast for it has now been confirmed. One of the leading roles is being taken by Bill Ward, who has starred in the soap operas Emmerdale and Coronation Street. He will be playing the part of Abanazar, who is one of the villains of the piece. This is something he has considerable experience at, as he played a “bad guy” role in Coronation Street.
Ward is also a pantomime veteran, having previously appeared in a production in Bridlington. There he was cast as Fleshcreep. That show was a big success, so he will be hoping for a similar response in Redditch.
The role of Aladdin will be taken by Niall Gray, while Laura-Dene Perryman is playing the Princess. Dave Benson Phillips will portray the Emperor, and he will be a familiar face to audiences. He is known for regular appearances on children’s television.
When it comes to promoting upcoming local shows, venues sometimes use poster printing by Redditch shops. This is because posters can be a great way to grab attention.
The venue for this show will be the Palace Theatre and it will run between 8 December and 4 January.
