Redditch to welcome cancer research fundraising event

One of the biggest charity fundraising events in the UK is coming to Redditch this summer, as the town prepares to Race for Life.

This event is put together by Cancer Research UK and takes place in locations all over the country. The money that is raised by those who enter goes towards the development of new treatments and preventative measures. This year, Redditch will be hosting two of the main runs involved in the event, while the remaining one will take place at a location in Rednal.

The two that will still be held in Redditch are the 5k and 10k runs. These are open to people of any age and any level of ability. Arrow Valley Park will be serving as the location for them.

Promotional Pens created by Print shops in Redditch can be useful to the organisers of fundraisers. They can feature the name of the event and be handed out on the day as a way of spreading the word.

Alanis Morata is a Cancer Research UK spokesperson. According to the Redditch Standard, she said:
“Whether you’re a five-a-side crew, book club, dance troupe, yoga club, fancy doing something with your friends – or on your own – we want everyone to join us.”

Race for Life was first launched in 1994, and over 10 million have since participated.

It will take place in Redditch on 14 June.
