Local plan for Redditch to undergo public consultation

Redditch Borough Council is launching a public consultation into its Local Plan, and it wants residents to provide their feedback.

The borough council is using the plan making system set up by the Government for this project. Having secured initial approval, it is now entering the Local Plan Scoping stage. This is the first part of the consultation process and concerns what should be included in the plan, as well as how best to engage residents of the town with it. There will be further consultation stages before a final Local Plan is ready to move forward.

Matt Dormer is the council leader and holder of the planning portfolio. He was quoted by the Redditch Standard as saying:
“What this stage is not about, is consulting on specific development. The focus here is on identifying the key issues for Redditch and how people will be involved in shaping the future plan.”

When the local authority is conducting public consultations, Graphic Design Services in Redditch can help. They can provide designs that show how projects might look when constructed.

The Government created the plan making system to make implementing the various Local Plans around the country easier. The plans are intended to determine the long-term environment, infrastructure, employment, and housing strategies for each town and city.

The consultation is up and running and is scheduled to last until 14 August.
