Gareth Gates made it all the way to the final of the television talent show back in 2002. He has since gone on to forge a successful career, initially as a pop singer and more recently in musical theatre. During that time he has sold millions of records and enjoyed number one chart hits. Now he is set to pay a visit to Redditch for one of the biggest events in the town’s calendar.
In addition to switching on the festive lights, Gates will be giving a musical performance. He will also be taking part in a meet and greet with fans before the big switch-on. The location for that will be the Kingfisher Shopping Centre.

Gates has been secured for the event by Redditch BID. According to the Redditch Advertiser, it released a statement saying:
“The festive season is just around the corner, and we’re excited to reveal the star joining us for this year’s Christmas lights switch-on.”
