Redditchs superfast broadband beats national standard

Redditch citizens have enviable access to fast broadband when compared with other British people.

Recent statistics indicate that Redditch has great access to superfast broadband when compared with the national average. There is gap of over 4% which favours residents of the town. This level of connectivity may boost demand for digital printing in Redditch.

Karen Lumley, the local MP, told the Redditch Advertiser:

“This is great progress, but we recognise there is more to be done to deliver the connectivity Britain needs and consumers need. Digital infrastructure is critical to the future of our economy and we are working hard to ensure high-speed, high-quality broadband is rolled out to every home and business in the country.”

Within the constituency of Redditch, the superfast broadband coverage now exceeds 96%. It is expected that the amount of local coverage will increase further before the end of the year. The serving minister for the digital sector, Matthew Hancock, put the current figures in the public domain a short while ago.

The national superfast broadband policy has already provided more than four million homes with access. This progress has been facilitated by co-operation between the public sector and private organisations. The Redditch area has benefited significantly from the strategy, with over 3,700 enterprises and homes winning out as a result.
