In the run-up to reaching 50 years of age, Julie Rae will tackle five individual challenges in support of good causes, including the Women v Cancer Partnership, Redditch Home Start and Help for Heroes. Those raising funds for charity often promote their efforts to the public by using flyer printing services. Rae commented on her goal:
“Last year I decided I was going to help others by doing something different for my birthday. Challenge one will be the three-day cycle in May. It’s going to be really tough but I’m feeling physically ready for it.”
The mother of three is maintaining her fitness with regular weekly training sessions, but states the toughest test is keeping mentally strong.
After the cycle ride in Italy, Rae will face the 100 kilometre Peak District Challenge followed by the Great North run and a 10km swim in Devon’s River Dart.
The final challenge for Rae is not so gruelling but does involve much hard work. She has tasked herself with organising a winter ball, the proceeds of which are going to Midlands Air Ambulance. At the ball, Rae will also reveal the amount her challenges have earned for charity.
