Redditch training scheme to start soon

A Redditch manufacturing business is poised to launch a training scheme for young adults.

Redditch-based Heartbeat UK engages in manufacturing and design. It will run a training programme early in 2017. Young people who participate in the initiative may want to order Business Cards from Redditch. The course at the Training Academy lasts for a period of 16 weeks.

The curriculum taught by Heartbeat UK focuses on innovation in retail display. However, skills relevant to a variety of trades can be acquired as the weeks go by. Participants between the ages of 16 and 24 can build on existing interests in joinery, carpentry and engineering. It is important to note that experience is unnecessary as complete training is offered.

While Heartbeat UK is investing resources in the delivery of the free course, it has been helped out by matched funding. This has been forthcoming from the enterprise partnership which is connected to the relevant county council.

There is a powerful incentive to get involved because there is the opportunity for progression. The company has the scope to provide full internal apprenticeships to many of its successful students. Nevertheless, the business did not fill all the placements in its training programme well in advance of registration.

The Training Academy was established during the course of 2015. Since then, many of its students have obtained jobs in the local manufacturing and engineering industries.
