Kerry Ellis is taking to the road with a one-woman show that has been given the name ‘Queen of the West End’. It will see her tell some of the best tales from her two-decade career as a recording and stage star.
The tour has been scheduled to promote her autobiography, which has the same title, and one of her appearances will be in Redditch.
The venue for it will be the Palace Theatre and she is promising an intimate evening of songs and reminiscences. This seems sure to attract a lot of interest from residents of the town, but local venues still sometimes use poster printing from Redditch shops to ensure their shows are well advertised.
Ellis is certainly a well-known figure to any fan of musical theatre, having appeared in numerous smash hit productions. Among her credits are ‘Miss Saigon’, ‘Cats’, ‘Les Miserables’ and ‘My Fair Lady’.
She told a local source that:
“I am loving being on this tour, we are having so much fun, and I feel very fortunate to be able to add more dates and more venues next autumn.”
She will hit Redditch in November next year.
