Redditch to welcome 1980s pop star

A star who rose to fame during the 1980s will be coming to Redditch for a live performance next year, as one of the stops on her tour of the UK.

Toyah built a successful career as a singer and actress during that decade. Now, the woman dubbed the ‘High Priestess of Punk’ is set to take to the road with a brand-new show. She has given it the name ‘Songs and Stories’ and it will see her visit places throughout the country, with Redditch among them.

The Palace Theatre will be serving as the venue for the show, which will see Toyah look back on her lengthy career. As the name of the show indicates, this will be interspersed with music. Fans can expect to hear some of her earlier hits, as well as new songs.

When local venues need to advertise their upcoming shows, poster printing by Redditch print shops is there as an option.

Toyah will certainly have plenty to talk about during this show, as her career has lasted for five decades. That has included periods as a stage actress with the Royal Court and the National Theatre, as well as movie and television roles. In her parallel music career, she had hits like ‘I Want to be Free’.
