Redditch is set to be one of three local places to host a weekend dedicated to cider and beer drinking this summer, as a replacement for a popular festival.
The annual Bromsgrove Beer and Cider Festival would normally have taken place during June, but had to be cancelled again this year due to ongoing Covid-19 restrictions. However, the organisers of the festival have opted to put together several events in different parts of the region to replace it, with one of them due to be in Redditch.
The town will host a weekend for lovers of cider and beer, with a number of pubs in the area participating. There will be a special treasure hunt in which a day-long narrowboat trip for the whole family is on offer as the prize for the lucky winner.
Poster printing from local shops is often used by the organisers of upcoming events such as this to help advertise them to people living in Redditch.
Dave Wheeler, the organiser, said that people with experience of running pubs were better suited to ensuring the Covid-19 safety compliance of the weekends. He went on to urge fans of cider and beer to go and support their local venues following the pandemic by attending these events.
The Redditch cider and beer weekend will be taking place on August 14 and 15.
