Redditch remembers John Bonham

Forge Mill Museum in Redditch is to be the location for a special event that will commemorate the achievements of John Bonham.

Bonham, the legendary drummer for rock band Led Zeppelin, died over three decades ago. However, the John Bonham Memorial Fund (JBMF) is still going. The organisation may use poster printing from Redditch in the future. Ros Sidaway, who is the treasurer of the memorial fund, has said:

“We are keen to hear from anyone who knew or met John, and who would like to share their recollections of him, or perhaps have photographs of John from his school days or when he played local bands.”

Visitors to the event can discover more about the rock star. If they know about the past of Mr. Bonham, then they can assist with research about his early life.

There will be the opportunity to purchase a book authored by Mick Bonham at a reduced price. It is called ‘John Bonham- the Powerhouse behind Led Zeppelin’ and will be sold for £12. There will be the chance to buy JBMF badges for £1. Further, fans will be able to put their names on a list in support of a memorial, while donations can be made via the net.

The idea is that £50,000 should be raised in total. If the target is reached, an appropriate memorial for the drummer will be designed and constructed locally.
