Redditch regeneration schemes get funding

A number of ambitious schemes for regeneration are set to be carried out across Redditch, with the news that the town has been awarded millions of pounds in funding.

The government has provided Redditch with funding to the tune of £15.6 million, which is to be divided between several different projects. This stems from the Town Deals set up by the government, under which Redditch was one of the places encouraged to develop a Town Investment Plan and submit it for possible funding.

This led to the creation of a Town Deal Board, featuring community leaders and businesspeople from the area, which came up with the town’s proposal. It includes Plans for a major regeneration of the town centre, with investment in environmentally friendly infrastructure and a brand-new public square.

Spots such as Unicorn Hill and Church Green will be revitalised, and a new Digital Manufacturing and Innovation Centre will be built to help with skills development. Logo Design services in the area often help with the branding of training centres before they launch.

Redditch Borough Council leader Matt Dormer told the Redditch Advertiser that:

“This really is an historic investment for Redditch and could well be the single largest government investment our town has seen since it became a new town.”

Dormer went on to add that it was now time to deliver on the Plans.
