Redditch Mayor opens play centre

Joe Baker, the mayor for Redditch, has recently opened the 360 Play Centre.

Mayor Baker was joined by Duncan Phillips and Ken Williams at the event. Williams is the manager of the Kingfisher Shopping Centre where the play hub is located and Phillips is the director of the play centre. Postcard printing in Redditch might be used to showcase the new amenity.

Mayor Baker told the Redditch Standard:

“This is a fantastic venue and I was shocked to see the how big this centre is once you’re inside – it’s a bit of a tardis effect. I was very impressed to see the different activities the children as well as parents could get involved in, from dressing up as fire fighters to bumper cars.”

Phillips told Mayor Baker that his vision was all about getting families to play together. The idea of the centre is that children and parents can benefit from interaction which does not involve smartphones or tablets.

The establishment of the fresh venue has led to the creation of about 40 jobs. When the play centre has raised awareness, it should boost the number of people who visit Redditch.

Mayor Baker wants the play centre to be run in a manner which is sensitive to the needs of the local population. He believes the venue in question should be accessible in terms of its affordability.
