Redditch may get new convenience outlet
Redditch may be set to get a brand new convenience outlet, should the borough council decide to give the go-ahead to the plans for one that have been submitted.
The man behind them is Shahid Farooqui, and he is hoping to get permission to adapt the bottom floor of a building at Mount Pleasant in the town to commercial use. According to the plans he has submitted to the council, the convenience store would be open between 9:00 am and 6:00 pm from Monday to Saturday, and between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm on Sunday.
These plans also indicate that the project to turn the building from a residential space to a commercial one would involve changing the living room area into the outlet’s main shop floor. The room would be increased in size through the demolition of a wall currently standing.
Companies like property developers based in Redditch can make use of local services such as shops that create letterheads to ensure that council applications and other official documents look as good as possible.
The application submitted by Farooqui would also see the bedroom at the back of the chosen building converted into the storeroom for the convenience outlet.
