Redditch firm makes award shortlist

A company in Redditch that specialises in lighting solutions could be celebrating later this year, with the news that it has made it onto the shortlist for a top national industry award.

Tamlite Lighting is in the running for a prize at this year’s Materials Recycling World (MRW) National Recycling Awards. The company produces lights that put the sustainability issue at the heart of the design and manufacturing processes, while also making extensive use of materials that can be recycled in the creation of the luminaires.

In addition, it has managed to cut back the amount of plastic that it uses in Packaging its products by 80% during the past four years. Meeting that target is a significant reason for its inclusion on the MRW awards shortlist.

When local companies win awards, they often turn to Redditch shops that provide business card printing so that they can get fresh cards made that promote those wins.

Speaking to the Redditch Standard, the managing director of Tamlite Lighting, John Allden, stated that:

“As a leading lighting manufacturer, we have a responsibility to ensure our processes, technologies and products are in line with our commitment of ensuring a healthy planet for all.”

He then added that the firm was focusing on combining innovation and sustainability with quality in its products.

The gala dinner for these awards takes place on 6th December.
