Redditch building could be replaced by care home

An empty building in Redditch could be set for replacement by a care home, with Plans for this having now been submitted to Redditch Borough Council.

The building in question is called Osprey House and it is situated on Albert Street. It used to be owned by Heart of Worcestershire College, which used it as a teaching facility. The college abandoned the building three years ago, and since then it has lain empty.

Now, an application has been submitted to build a care home on the site, after knocking the building down.

MACC Group Ltd is the company behind this application, and its Plans are for a care home with three storeys. This would contain a total of 98 bedrooms, as well as a range of other amenities.

When the owners of new care homes first open them, they need to showcase the amenities on offer to potential residents. Brochure printing by shops in Redditch can help them with that.

According to the Redditch Advertiser, the application states that:
“The proposed care home has been developed to be a homely, safe and comfortable environment with state-of-the-art equipment and facilities, allowing residents to live an enhanced quality of life.”

This application is an updated one, with the same company having submitted an earlier plan. That involved converting the building instead of demolishing it, producing a smaller care home.
