Redditch Bandstand welcomes Vintage Day

This weekend sees the welcome return of the annual Vintage Day to Redditch’s Bandstand on the Green.

As it travels back in time, the bandstand will become the focal point for numerous events that everyone can enjoy. This includes musical entertainment provided by Jazz Alchemy, the Violettes and Music Makers as well as a host of fun stalls and children's face painting. There will also be other activities, such as a bouncy castle.

The event’s highlights are sure to be the presence of vintage cars and a motorbike display by the Royal Enfield, which is participating for the first time. Those attending can dress up in period costume or in character, if they wish, in order to have their photograph taken with the cars.

The Redditch Local History Society will also be present to record people's recollections of the town's carnival. This Forms part of the group's research in preparation for its Forge Mill exhibition, which is due to open later in the year.

There is no entry charge for visitors and bandstand events are regularly scheduled once month between June and September, with a full list of events being available on request. Flyer printing can be used as a way of letting the community know about local events.

This year’s Vintage Day event will be held on Saturday 15th June between 12pm and 4pm.
