Redditch art project seeks volunteers

Indigo arts want volunteers to assist in the creation of a Wall of Change within Redditch’s Kingfisher Shopping Centre (KSC).

The Wall of Change project is intended to complement a musical by Jason Robert Brown (JRB). The ‘Songs for a New World’ show will be heard by Redditch residents and Indigo arts hope that theinitiative helps locals to learn from their own experiences, perhaps bringing note pads to jog their memories about their personal histories.

Cathy Moss, the director of Indigo arts, told the Redditch Standard:

“So many people have had to make life changing decisions, or have subconsciously taken steps that have led to new horizons, just one moment can change everything. We would love to hear from people willing to share these with us, so we can create a wall in the pop-up theatre to record these life changing moments.”

Moss said that the timing of the musical production was fitting, because the show is about confronting a decision and then choosing whether or not to stick with it.

A vacant shop unit has been selected. This building, which is located on Millward Square, will be employed to house the event. The show has been scheduled to go on for the July 21 to July 23 period. Applicants to volunteer have been encouraged to come forward from different parts of Redditch. It is not necessary for volunteers to give their name when they come forward.
