Public encouraged to back hospital staff

Worcester Acute Hospitals NHS Trust has asked local people to nominate individuals for the awards ceremony for staff achievement.

The trust is responsible for the management of Alexandra Hospital in Redditch, as well as hospitals in Worcester and Kidderminster. Photographs of the winner of the award could be used for promotional purposes and produced with the assistance of brochure printers in Redditch.

Kate Baldwin was the recipient of the Patients’ Choice Award last year, and she commented:

“It is fantastic to have the service I deliver recognised. I work across all three sites and to know I make such a difference to patients’ lives is amazing.”

Members of the public are expected to choose someone who has delivered in an extraordinary way, beyond what could be expected. The trust has a workforce of more than 5,000 people.

In order for patients to have an influence over the award, they must get hold of a nomination form. The relevant cards can be obtained from any of the three hospitals involved in the scheme. This action has to be performed in good time.

A nurse practitioner who has specialised in the ENT area, Baldwin was reportedly given the accolade in 2014 because of her gift for addressing the needs of patients. It had been observed that she has worked with individuals when they have been undergoing particularly difficult experiences.
