New jobs to be created at Redditch Amazon
Work on the building of a brand new fulfilment centre for Amazon is underway at a site in Redditch, and the online retail giant has indicated that job opportunities for hundreds of people will be available there.
This 10,000 square metre warehouse is now being constructed at Redditch Gateway, and upon opening will provide immediate jobs for 300 people. There will then be further opportunities for as many as 600 more people in the area within the first year of its launch. This is being described as something that will be transformative for Redditch.
In addition to this fulfilment centre, Amazon will also launch one of its delivery stations in the area. This is set to be located at Hedera Road and will provide jobs for approximately 140 people when it is completed.
Flyer printing supplied by local outlets can help to advertise facilities like this after they open.
Rachel MacLean, the MP for Redditch, paid a visit to the site where the fulfilment centre is being built during April. According to the Redditch Advertiser, she went on to say:
“The creation of hundreds of good paying, high-skilled jobs is game-changing and is a sign of confidence in Redditch’s economy as we build back better from Covid-19.”
The Amazon fulfilment centre is scheduled to be ready to open by the autumn.
