The cycle route and car park are situated in the vicinity of Battens Drive. Visitors to Arrow Valley Park normally use the transport infrastructure for access. For a single day, the parking facilities will be closed while maintenance takes place. When the car park reopens, leaflet printers from Redditch can be used to encourage recreational use of Arrow Valley Park.
Pat Witherspoon, a councillor with responsibility for the delivery of leisure services, stated:
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the closure of the car park and the cycle route. The completion of this essential maintenance will benefit the users of the park in the long term and will make the area easier to navigate, use and enjoy.”
The car park maintenance will include a variety of tasks. The space will be swept, parking bays will be relined and potholes will be filled as part of the redevelopment. When the work is completed, the focus will switch to the cycle route.
A portion of the cycle route will be shut down for a day. Route 5 will benefit from efforts made the by the Engineering and Design department. These activities will consist in part of addressing potholes. However, other repair work might be done to improve the future experiences of cyclists.
