This sizeable hub is being built on Middle House Lane, Redditch and it will enable the town’s fire and police services to operate from the same base. Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Services (HWFRS) have teamed up with John Campion, the Police and Crime Commissioner, on the delivery of the new hub.
In an interview with the Redditch Standard, Campion stated that he was willing to move quickly to upgrade facilities when this became necessary. He then went on by saying:
“Investing in this building for both the force and fire service shows my commitment to ensure police officers in Redditch are based at the very heart of the communities they proudly serve.”
When organisations are making changes like this to essential local services, they sometimes rely on Print shops in the area to provide leaflets explaining them to residents.
The Commander of North Worcestershire LPA, Supt Mel Paley, said that the hub would be equipped with the sort of cutting edge facilities that are suitable for modern policing.
At the moment, this brand new shared building is on track to be ready for use by the autumn of 2024.
