A new centre for people living with dementia to meet others with the condition, and to get to know support staff as well, is set to be built in Redditch after funding for it was secured.
Two years ago, the district councils and county council announced that centres of this sort would be launched across the area using financing from the Business Rates Retention Pilot for Worcestershire. Following that, dementia hubs were opened in six different parts of the county last year, including Stourport and Kidderminster, and now Redditch will be getting one of its own.
Funding for this is coming from the same source as that used for the earlier six and it will be joined by a second new hub in Bromsgrove. Redditch Stationery printers can help organisations like these centres to run smoothly by ensuring that they have all the official Forms that they need.
Speaking to the Bromsgrove Advertiser, the Age UK Herefordshire and Worcestershire CEO Julia Neal said:
“We are delighted to be awarded this grant and are looking forward to developing the new meeting centres in Bromsgrove and Redditch over the next few months.”
She went on to say that the existing centres had really helped those with the condition and that it would be brilliant to be able to provide similar support to the dementia community in these two additional parts of the county.
