Clothing firm invests in Redditch

Sportswear and clothing company Gymshark has recently made a significant investment in Redditch.

Gymshark has just rented a large unit in the town. The organisation now employs more than 40 staff and has a base of customers around the globe. Having acquired a suitable space, its next move may be to order Letterheads or digital Business Cards from local suppliers.

Lewis Morgan and Ben Francis, alumni of Aston University, launched the business four years ago. Francis, who is a director for Gymshark, said:

“Everyone involved with Gymshark – our supporters, our team and our athletes – form part of a huge community, a family. We promise to do the best we possibly can to help our family and these new premises reflect that while at the same time taking us to the next level.”

The current managing director of the outfit is Steve Hewitt. Paul Richardson is now the strategic director of the firm Morgan and Francis created. Richardson has revealed that the turnover of Gymshark should be about £12m this year. However, he said that the aspiration of the management is to boost turnover to £50m over the five years to come.

Richardson explained why Redditch seems to be the ideal location for Gymshark. He suggested that many staff members live in the vicinity of Redditch, while the transport infrastructure is appropriate for the operation. Further, he pointed out that the selected building offers adequate space for potential expansion.
