Cancer charity event to take place in Redditch

Residents of Redditch are set to have the opportunity to ‘Walk All Over Cancer’ later in the year, by signing up for the charity challenge that will be taking place across the area.

The challenge will be in aid of Cancer Research UK and will involve participants walking 10,000 steps each day for an entire month. Those wishing to take part need to secure sponsors to support them in this bid, with the challenge being promoted as both a way to raise cash for crucial research and to get healthier.

Furthermore, the charity is also encouraging people to sign up for the event by highlighting the links between regular exercise and better sleep and mental health. Flyer is often used by charities like this to spread the word about fundraising events to as many people in the area as possible.

Speaking to the Redditch Advertiser, the Worcestershire spokesperson for Cancer Research UK, Paula Young, said that COVID-19 had affected fundraising over the past year, making this event even more important, adding:

“We all hope that 2021 has a more positive outlook. So why not give yourself a boost by committing to get more active and having an achievable goal to aim for – all in aid of a good cause.”

The Walk All Over Cancer challenge will take place during March.
